Values: How We Engage

You may have come across one of those cliché motivational posters in a workplace setting: Teamwork, Excellence, Believe & Succeed. When most people think of an organization's values, they likely envision words or phrases like those seen on these posters, yet they are so much more. They are a fundamental part of what we call purpose statements for any organization and are especially helpful when developing creative content.

Craft & Motion is guided by three values. These are statements that explain how we engage with different areas of our agency. These aren't just catchy phrases we have written on our office wall; they are the guiding principles that help us partner with brands and businesses to clarify and communicate their purpose.

Go Farther With Fewer

This is how we engage our vision and mission. We want to see organizations that are doing meaningful work win more, and we believe that we can maximize our impact if we "go farther with fewer". For us, it's less about how many partners we have and more about how deeply our teams are integrated. This also means we're intentional about whom we choose to work with, and we hope our partners are just as thoughtful. We want our work to be creative and effective. It's about form and function. We can do that when we go farther with fewer.

Build Influence Through Integrity

This is how we engage our colleagues and clients. There are some values that go beyond just the workplace. This is one of them. Integrity is non-negotiable for us at Craft & Motion. It's a value that we embody in and through our agency. It doesn't get checked at the door when we leave the office. It doesn't get pushed aside when we're frustrated. It's our dedication to integrity that builds the influence we need to help our partners move their mission forward.

Seek Rhythm Over Balance

This is how we engage life and leadership. We really care about the work that we do at Craft & Motion, and we work with organizations that really care about their work, too. Sometimes that deep care can feel overwhelming, especially as we try to balance it alongside other important areas of our life. This is why we "seek rhythm over balance." The search for balance is an attempt to organize our time. Instead, rhythms aim to organize our tasks. Our focus shifts to priorities in seasons instead of perfect schedules. When we seek rhythm over balance, we're doing the most important work, when the work needs to be done.
